Amazon S3
Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) is storage for the Internet. It has a web services interface that you can use to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web.

Cons
Below is a sample video being served up by Amazon S3. It looks like the player serves up the full video file no matter what size your screen is as there are no options for different resolutions.

Conclusion:
For the purpose of this comparison, in which we are searching for the best video hosting platform for our online courses, Vimeo meets more of our needs than Amazon S3. Amazon S3 is a great cloud storage service providing you reliability and speed, but it is not the easiest to work with. There are multiple steps to upload and make a video file viewable. It is easier to upload video files into Vimeo and select more advanced viewing options.
WordPress websites integrate better and easier with videos from Vimeo than Amazon S3.
Vimeo has the much needed domain-level privacy, which means you can rest assured your video courses can only be viewed from your website and cannot be shared. Amazon S3 may provide a level of privacy but it is not user-friendly and I do not recommend it for non-techies.
