How to Connect Zoom H4n Recorder to Computer, PC, Laptop as USB Audio Interface

in this lesson I'm going to show you how

to connect your zoom h4n microphone into

your PC or laptop let's do it

here's my h4n zoom recorder make sure

it's plugged that's the power and turn

it on okay go on the side click that

button menu go down to USB audio if'

interface and here you go

frequency 48 kilohertz okay I'm already

set up 48 and you can select 44 if you

want

that's cd-quality 48 is DVD quality so

I'm on DVD quality which I recommend

you're good and make sure you select it

on your laptop and connect then plug in

that old USB mini cord goes into here

and the normal USB goes to the laptop we

also have to make sure our laptop or PC

is running at 48 kilohertz as well or at

least match it with your device that h4n

if you chose 44 then you set your laptop

to 44 if you selected 48 but then you

choose 48 to get there just right-click

the sound icon down here right click it

go to open sound settings or you can

also go and type sound settings here get

to the same spot open up sound control

panel

okay and click on the recording tab and

it's already detecting my H for

microphone so just double click that and

now go to the Advanced tab we're running

on two channel 16-bit 48 thousand Hertz

or 48 kilohertz DVD quality that's my

setting some laptops are just set at 40

4 kilohertz

so this is what you have to change if

your h4n is set at 48 kilohertz then you

have to go in here and change this to 48

and that's it when they're both

operating at the same kilohertz your h4n

will work fine

this is audacity and I'm gonna test it
