in this video we are going to easily
move clips from one position
in the timeline and insert it into
another position
let's do it
okay so here we are in davinci resolve
16 this is the edit page
i've created a video and i've edited it
so i took out parts that i didn't like
that's why there's all these cuts here
and my video ended here but then i
forgot
a section so i recorded another section
here and now i want to bring this
section
somewhere over here so how do you do
that
well it's really easy so just make sure
you click on this clip
it's highlighted it's in red use control
x i guess in apple that would be command
x to cut it saves it into your memory
and then find the position you want to
insert it in
let's say right here i want to insert it
after this clip
and before this clip and we're
positioned correctly
and all i have to do now is to paste it
in there with the insert
and to do that you use the keyboard
shortcut of control
shift and v for paste
and here we go there you go
it inserted that piece that was in
memory that i cut
and moved the rest of the clips to the
right of it okay and here's another
situation where i
want to move this clip something in the
middle
over to an area over here so again i
will select this clip
left click it's already highlighted
selected and i'll do a control or
command
x to cut it leaves a space
find the position where you want to
insert it into
right there ctrl shift v
and there you go it inserted that
section
in between those two clips
but we have to go back over here and
deal with the
gap and to get rid of it just simply
left click
this area here and then right click
and ripple delete and there you have it
we now moved that one section over
to the new spot and that concludes this
