hi in this video we are going to record
our voice in other words do a voiceover
inside the Vinci resolve and I'll also
show you a way that might even be better
than doing it inside of the Vinci
welcome to sharing your passion calm I'm

transform your passions into an online
business I will assist you with creating
WordPress websites online courses email

and how to make it work for you sales
and marketing and more basically you
provide the passion and I provide
assistance and let's work to get your
dream realized subscribe and click the
notification bell to set your dreams in
motion and I'll drag this over down to
the timeline so this is just a video in
an island I was panning over and I was
recording I wasn't voicing anything
during the coverage so now I need to add
some voice over to this scene alrighty
so to add a voice over here in DaVinci
Resolve let's go to the Fairlight tab
and let's mute this audio because we
don't really need that there was nothing
from that audio that I need it was too
windy
so we're muting that and first step is
to right-click in this area add track
stereo okay so that's 8 - that's track 8
to make sure this mixer toggle is on and
under 8 - let's click this no input
click input and select your microphone
I'm not sure why my microphone is listed
twice but just click the first one and
patch we're patching in that microphone
into the Vinci resolve are connecting it
and X out of this window ok now we have
to check this or toggle this our button
record button on ok now I can hear
myself there's like a feedback it's like
a echo that's because we have the audio
tube coin and the main one going I'm
gonna stop main one by muting it
okay I just muted the main once and now
yeah we needed to turn that off because
it was creating a feedback and echo
effect so now that we're good to go
this will record straight into the Vinci
and and I'm not hearing that feedback
anymore okay we're ready to record we
just have to click this round button and
here we are in the middle of the
Caribbean in a beautiful island called
st. Maarten something like that okay and
let's play it back but you know when you
play it back you won't hear it because
the mean is off so we have to toggle
this back on again so press the mute
undo the mute for me and now we can hear
what we recorded play and here we are in
the middle of the Caribbean in a
beautiful island called st. Martin okay
so that's one way to do it and let's go
back to our edit page since we're
recording on and we want to hear this
back in the Edit Page I have to keep the
mute off meaning main one is still
playing let's put it on if I speak
there's gonna be echo I think so let's
go back to edit tab and let's play this
and here we are in the middle of the
Caribbean on a beaut you have your audio
here you can move it around if you wish
to match any part and you can cut the
video image to match the audio or vice
versa and so that's one way to do it
that's one way to do a voiceover in
DaVinci Resolve
what's good about using the Vinci to do
your voice over is because you can see
your video and you're voicing over it
and so you know where you are in the
video when you're adding your voice but
there's also another way to do your
audio recording or voiceover I actually
do it outside of the venturi resolve
because it's just a little bit simpler
for me okay so this is what I use most
of the time to do my voiceovers or my my
voice recording this is audacity this is
a free audio editor and it's great for
recording and also editing your
so here you just want to make sure your
microphones are selected I have the
microphone h4 and also the headphones is
also going through the h4 and sometimes
you have to play around with this to get
your mic and your speakers or headphones
to work but this is the combination that
works for me
okay so let's record so here we are in
the middle of the Caribbean in the
beautiful island of st. Maarten and when
you're done it's so easy to edit here
you can just drag from here to here
press delete and you cut it and you
don't need this part you drag here and
there and delete now this is ready for
export go to file export export as mp3
audio it's being exported as an mp3 file
save okay that okay we're back into
venture resolve
let's bring in that new audio we just
recorded through audacity it's right
here just drag it in there and I'll
delete my previous recording down here
and bring in the new audio and let's
play it so here we are in the middle of
the Caribbean in the beautiful island of
st. Martin okay so that's how I do it in
audacity which I prefer more than the
venturi resolve when doing voiceovers
because it's just a little bit quicker
and I don't have to go back and forth
into Fairlight and to edit and I've just
got used to using audacity but if I'm
doing a voiceover on a long scene any I
need to see the scene because they'll
prompt me to say you know to describe
the situation then I'll do it in da
Vinci using Fairlight okay so that's how
we do voiceovers in DaVinci and outside
of da Vinci I hope you found this useful
and if so please give the video a like
let me know down in the comment section
below if you have other questions that I
haven't
