How to Take Screenshots in DaVinci Resolve

hi in this video I'm going to show you

how to take screenshots or grab stills

in DaVinci Resolve hi welcome to sharing

your passion calm this is chill and

let's get it on so I have a short video

of a kid doing a wheelie and let's play

that okay if this is a screen shot we

want the way to do it in resolve is go

to color tab right click the video clip

here and grab still so that produces

this item here and if you right click

that you can export and that's going to

my correct folder just name it grab

still and save as a JPEG and let's check

that directory and there it is okay

so it also saves this other dot DRX file

I guess that's just a DaVinci Resolve

file you can delete that so that's one

way to do it the other way to do it

which might even be better is to go back

to your edit page once you have the

frame you want just click on ctrl F for

full page and don't touch anything yet

don't move your mouse don't touch any

buttons right now we have a clean shot

of the image so all you have to do is

hit your Print Screen button or your

print screen function in your PC in my

situation it's just one button of print

screen in other cases you might need one

or two more other buttons to press a

full page print screen now once you move

your mouse or hit any button

this player tool shows up

so we didn't want that in our print

screen or screen capture so that's it

escape to get back to the regular editor

okay and let's check our screenshot

directory and it's over here and there

it is so that's two ways to get your

screenshot of your video

I haven't yet figured out how to do the

da Vinci you know color and grab still

and bring that straight into our media

pool see it won't let me drag it to my

media in my gallery how can I access

that in the Edit tab there's probably a

way but I haven't figured it out yet if

any of you know the trick to directly

bring that screenshot into your media

library please let us know in the

comment section below

now that you have your screenshot you

can use that to make your thumbnail or

any other kind of graphic file you need

to complement your your video if you

want it to use it in the video just drag

it into your media library and now you

can use that in your editor
